Sony Uncovers Rolly Music Player

Sony Rolly Music Player

Sony’s Rolly digital music player surely stands out form the rest! We have all become accustomed to slim and flat music players to this new Rolly by Sony stick out like a sore thumb. Obviously there’s no denying that fact primarily because of its shape, a white egg-shaped and winged device that easily fits on your palm. It is small and light weighing only 300 g, 104 mm long and 65 mm around. Within its make up are the speakers that blast out the tunes for you. And while the music plays Rolly can rotate, flap the wing-like protrusion and flash vibrant lights. The Rolly can move or “dance” using simple choreography but if you want something more advanced there’s a package available for download at the Sony website.

You might find its controls more confusing than the MP3 players on the market these days. Unlike the commonly flat controls Rolly makes use of the pair of rings found on its body. One is used to navigate through the tracks and the other is in charge of the volume. I’m not sure if 1GB of internal memory would be enough for you…comparing this feature with other new players that offer 8GB to 16GB memory. But this 1GB can store up to 600 songs. MP3, Atrac and AAC songs, Rolly can play them all. By using Bluetooth it is also possible to stream songs.

Battery usually lasts up to 5 hours when used for audio, but if it moves it drops to 4 hours and down to 3 if Bluetooth is on. This new player will be available in Japan on September 29 for $354.

I’m sure you’ll agree that its design is indeed very unique! I've not seen anything like it.
