Skype on iPhone

iPhone can now be converted into a Skype VoIP handset using the new application called the IM+ for Skype that’s created by SHAPE Service, a German software developer. The IM+ for Skype will run using the Apple Safari browser integrated in the phone. The application is designed specifically for the iPhone and can operate on any type of network. By logging on to skypeforiphone.com users who want to try out the service for free Skype to Skype calls can gain access to it.

Skype encourages third party developers to tap on their products and service, so SHAPE’s service is not a problem. This is done through their program called “Skype Developer Program.” Participating in the said program are approximately 4,000 third party members who are also creating various applications or services using Skype. Since the IM+ for Skype is currently on a promotional stage iPhone users can have the service for free.
