A new generation operating system from Microsoft is under construction at this very moment. It is not even that long when the Vista became available yet again Microsoft is on the go with its successor. The OS being developed is called Windows 7, but previously this was codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna. Vista was developed for like 5 years but with the Windows 7 Microsoft gave it only a three-year time-frame so by 2009 or 2010, a new OS will be released.
At this point Microsoft is still promoting and marketing their current Windows Vista so not a lot of details were disclosed about the Windows 7 development. But it is said that Windows 7 will also come in the business and consumer version just like the Vista. There will also likely be a 64-bit and a 32-bit version. Some reports also say that the new OS will be integrated with features to tackle networking concerns as well as virtualization.
Three years is not that long. Because of this announcement some of the computer users may decide not to switch to Vista and just wait for Windows 7. Personally, I think doing so would be more practical.
