Sony had made and released several models of digital cameras for the world market. Among their popular models are the Cyber-Shot series. Many consumers availed of them because of their cute appearance and capable performance. However, there’s bad news for those who bought the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T5 that was released back in 2005.
Sony has recently issued a recall for this particular model for the reason that the coating at the bottom portion of the cam did not contain ample adhesive strength that after long use ends up abrasive or scratchy, causing injury to the user’s hand. Out of the 350,000 units to be recalled 66,000 are in Japan and the remaining number is overseas.
If you have a Cyber-Shot DSC-T5 you should check its serial number because the affected models are those with serial numbers falling amid 3500001 up to 3574100. So with this recall, Sony will replace the affected part only, which means the bottom case only. I’m sure you would have liked it better if Sony replaced the whole model right? You consolation would be that Sony will pay the shipping of the cam.
