When Apple released the iPod, they immediately thought up of developing a smaller version that is so much easier on the budget, hence the iPod Nano. Once again Apple is on the same track! According to Kevin Chang an analyst at JP Morgan, Apple filed a patent at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for something that looks like a smaller iPhone. Though iPhone has been the most awaited phone because of its mixed capabilities, not all can avail of it because of its price. So with the smaller iPhone Apple will be able to target a wider range of clients.

With the smaller and cheaper iPhone many would really be able to get one. Compared to the existing 4GB ($499) and 8GB (599) iPhone models, the rumored smaller version would sell for $300…quite easy on the pocket right? But with this kind of price you can also just expect a limited function. But after the Nano-like iPhone, what would be next? The iPhone shuffle?
