Touchscreen devices are really becoming the best things these days. After Apple’s iPhone, Nokia is now also gearing up in developing phones using the innovative touch control. To make this a reality, Nokia already has a long-term license to use Immersion’s VibeTonz Mobile Player technology. It is said that Nokia will use said technology in a variety of their mobile devices sold worldwide, a very advantageous move indeed because the technology enables the “unmistakable tactile cues” each time the icons on the screen are pressed. The technology generally produces vibrations that will enable the user to know if they were successful in activating certain applications in the phone, thus make the phone usage a much more enjoyable experience for them.
Nokia’s developer community will receive VibeTonz’ software developer’s kit or SDK this month so they can start on newer and innovative mobiles. So far only two world-class cell phone developers make use of Immersion’s VibeTonz system – LG and Samsung, so with Nokia in the list, they’ll now be a threesome! So with this new technology in use we can expect ground-breaking products from Nokia.
