AT&T is now offering a new option for people in terms of entertainment. Through this company’s efforts television entertainment can be brought to your homes via the phone lines. This new service is called the U-verse TV. In order to make this plan a reality, AT&T is investing $6.5 billion in constructing a hybrid network of fast fiber-optic and conventional copper wires. This service is aimed to target 14 Southern California communities starting from Simi Valley down to Anaheim up to Riverside. And in the wider scene AT&T is planning to reach 18 million homes and 12 other states by the end of next year.

There are already customers who are enjoying the benefits of U-verse TV and feedback is that the picture quality it provides is better than what is delivered by cable and satellite TV. AT&T also offers attractive freebies like the faster channel changing and the capacity to record as many as four shows at once using a digital video recorder. Some of the other cool features included in it are the three set-top boxes, picture-in-picture feature as well as an interactive program guide.
