This battery-backed Xenium NRG was developed by Philips in partnership with Energizer holdings and Techtium.

Through the backup battery users will be able to have an extended talk time if the main battery losses its power already. This new back up battery system functions in the same way as the standard-sized AAA batteries you use. And the great thing about the battery is that it is rechargeable; it gets charged when you do the same for the main battery. It’s really a neat innovation made possible by Techtium’s integrated circuit. And it does not stop there because even with its functionality, style is not sacrificed as the Xenium NRG still has that slim and compact appearance.
