Sony PS3

Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii have had a great head start over the Sony PS3 so you can just visualize the tough competition faced by the latter. For its launching in Australia this coming March 23, Sony included lots of freebies and giveaways to make their offer sweeter to the gaming masses. The freebies will be smart way to take people’s attention away from its exorbitant price tag - $999.

Some of the freebies available with the March 23 launching of the Sony PS3 include the James Bond film Casino Royale. Well, if you are one of the first 20,000 buyers who register the PS3 online you can order this film for free. Another sweetener is the free download of the Gran Turismo: HD from the PlayStation Network.

We all know that the PS3 was supposed to be released in November last year but due to some production issues it did not materialize. Production issues included the fact that Sony PS3 was being bundled as an all-around entertainment system. Built with the Blu-ray player, Sony hopes to target the older generation of gamers. By integrating Blu-ray in the console Sony hopes to make the PS3 “future-proof” as this is one of the two next-generation disc formats, the other being the HD DVD that’s supported by Microsoft.
