IPhone TV Commercial First Aired at the Oscars

iPhone

After several weeks of battling over the iPhone trademark, Apple and Cisco finally came to an agreement. It has been finally settled that both of them have the right to use the iPhone mark. And after that much skirmish Apple is making their claim stronger by presenting their first iPhone television advertisement, nowhere else than in the recently held and glamour-filled Oscar Awards! This iPhone ad was given a 30 second spot during the telecast of the Academy Awards on ABC.

The new commercial was shown after the awards for art director and scientific and technical achievements were presented. The 30-second ad opened with a ringing rotary telephone where various TV characters and celebrities answered the phone. Some of them are Dustin Hoffman, Will Ferrell and Lucille Ball. Mr. Incredible of The Incredibles was also featured in the ad. After all these characters were shown, the commercial ended with the caption flashing across “Coming in June”.
