Well it seems that for the year 2006 a winner finally emerges among the game consoles available. During the past year we have all been participants in the battle among the consoles, all watching and waiting which will emerge the victor. So now we know. Based on the initial sales reports for 2006 it is the Xbox 360 that takes the first place. Even with the clamor and buzz during the latter part of this year regarding the Nintendo Wii and PS3, it still the Xbox 360 was able to hold its own!

Hey this is not just my own say so because a research has been done about it. Based on the findings of the research group NPD the Xbox 360 surpassed Wii and PS3 sales by 2 million units for November and December alone. This is quite a big gap with Wii selling a total of 1,800,000 and PS3’s 750,000. This kind of result is attributed to the fact that Wii and PS3 ran into supply problems during the later part of the year.

So I guess Wii and PS3 fans shouldn’t take this too much to heart. The console wars will never stop I think so maybe this year your favorites will make it to first place!
