Xbox 360 CPU Production Pushed Back ‘Til Mid-2007

The race has been on for quite some time regarding the top three gaming consoles namely Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Nintendo’s Wii and Sony’s PS3. Among them, the Xbox 360 has been the earliest to be released and the two latter consoles have been launched just recently. Well, competition is really tough as evidenced by the sales reports published just recently. This is probably one of the reasons why Microsoft thought up to upgrade their Xbox 360’s CPU. From 90 nm processors, they will switch to 65 nm processors. This is kind of a big switch because the result will be the less noisy, less hot and cheaper by counts, than the present Xbox.

The news about its production has already leaked out but those who have been eagerly watching out and anticipating getting their hands on this upgraded version, well you’re in for a bit of a disappointment. According to Microsoft, the production is delayed until the middle of 2007. Yup Xbox 360 fanatics out there have to wait a little while longer before you can get your hands on the new Xbox goodies!
