It sold over 600,000 units in its first week on sale in the US. Around 400,000 were shipped to stores in Japan for launch day and it sold out during the first morning on sale. People across Europe queued for hours last night to get their hands on one and many stores sold out on their pre-orders alone. So what’s causing all this excitement – it’s Nintendo’s new home console, Wii, which launched across Europe today.
Already tipped by many media to be the hottest gift for Christmas this year, Wii marks a milestone in gaming with its new, unique motion sensitive controller allowing people to experience home console gaming as never before.
