During this time, and when I say "this time," I mean the "Console Wars" between Xbox, Nintendo and Sony, the side that trips or even slips could be in trouble!
Xbox has in fact stumbled on a video problem. You probably know that Xbox 360 owners in the US are able to download high definition TV programs and films, including shows such as Star Trek and CSI. But recently, that service is having serious problems. Some customers complain that the video they download either takes hours or sometimes, it's even the wrong program!
It's apparently due to the huge number of downloads which occur at the same time.
"Technical issues have resulted in a very unpleasant experience," Xbox's Larry Hryb said.
It seems that video on demand is proving to be a difficult issue. Even today after the great advances in the Internet and high speed connections, it still seems that VIDEO is a challenge that isn't going away soon even for the biggest and most powerful company in the world.
A standard definition TV program costs $2 while a high definition version costs $3. Rental costs for films are $4 in standard definition and $6 in high definition.
It seems like a wonderful service giving you HD movies and TV shows saving you a trip to the DVD store, but if it doesn’t work, then that just another few dollars down the drain.
