The impending release of game consoles from Sony and Nintendo has sparked an urge in Microsoft to make their own product better than ever.

A year after the Xbox was made available to the market; Microsoft takes things a notch higher regarding their Xbox 360 game console in order to keep up with the competition. The new edge of the Xbox 360 is that owners of this gadget will not only be limited to playing games but be able to have online video entertainment. That’s right you can now watch any movie or TV show you want by downloading them through the Xbox Live online service. Xbox owners you don’t have wait long because by Nov. 22 you can have this new experience.

In order to cater to this new scheme, Microsoft has signed up an agreement with big cable companies as well as internet companies. Likewise, Microsoft has negotiated with CBS, MTV Networks, Paramount, Warner Bros and Turner Broadcasting for 1,000 hours worth of shows for download.

The speed of the download will depends on the size of the file. High definition movies will most likely take some time to download completely. The downloaded movies are not feasible to be burned on DVDs, so producer’s right are also protected.
