Samsung Electronics is first to demonstrate 4G technology (fourth generation mobile technology) at the annual Samsung 4G Forum in South Korea. During the demonstration done on a bus and in the forum venue, Samsung’s mobile transmitters and receivers were able to transmit data at 100 Mbps inside the bus traveling at 60kph and at 1Gbps inside the forum venue, which is 50 times speedier than the mobile WiMAX technology.

Participants of the forum were able to experience 4G technology’s stability, speed and ability to provide high quality video and audio through a live broadcast of the Forum, VOD and Internet access simultaneously shown in the bus.

Samsung started the 4G Forum in 2003 with the aim promote the next generation wireless access technology and to discuss with key players in the telecommunications industry the development and the future of 4G technology. Since the beginning, the forum has always been a successful event. With the successful demonstration of the 4G technology in this year’s forum, Samsung is hopeful that it will soon realize their dream of starting the 4G era.
