Planning to get a new high performing home theater system with an up-to-date video projector? You might want to wait for the new Sony Pearl, technically known as the Sony VPL-VW50. It will be coming out in the market sometime in October according to a leaked press release. This latest Sony projector is a follow-up to the highly respected Sony Ruby or the Sony VPL-VW100. Like the Ruby, Sony Pearl is built on Sony’s SXRD technology that delivers impressive HD full 1080 line resolution image. With this technology Sony VPL-VW50 brings a real digital theater experience within the comforts of your home.
The Sony VPL-VW50 is said to have a dynamic 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 5,000:1 static contrast ratio. It features a 1.8x zoom lens with auto focus function, and manual horizontal and vertical shift. It also comes with a 200-watt mercury bulb, which is just as efficient as the Sony VPL-VW100’s 400-watt xenon lamp. The Pear projector also features an improved cooling system with fan noise of just 2.2 decibels, 1-chip video engine and two HDMI digital inputs for superior cinema-like home theater experience.
