Nicole Richie’s accessories line, House of Harlow 1960, has been so successful so it’s not surprising that she’s ready to expand. This time Nicole is expanding to contemporary women’s clothing. The new clothing line, Winter Kate, is named after her daughter Harlow’s two middle names.

Nicole officially started working on the line earlier this year. All her hard work is going to pay off when the line gets released in February. So, probably she’s still doing some final touches on them at this stage.

When we catch sight of Carrie Underwood she’s usually all dressed up and looking glamorous. However, when she’s not on the red carpet, or when she’s not in front of a crowd, Carrie is still an ordinary woman like the rest of us. She likes to dress for comfort than for fashion. The stick-thin models that dominate the runway have sparked the public’s concern because of the negative self-image that they evoke in ordinary women. Popular German magazine Brigitte took this concern to heart prompting it to ban skinny models from its pages; instead it will use “real, ordinary women” in its ads. But fashion guru Karl Lagerfield just shrugged it off saying that curvy women have no place in the catwalk. His exact words, “No one wants to see curvy women” and that only fat people who are jealous say that thin models are ugly.

VMA winner Taylor Swift has a new project going on. And nope, it’s not music. She’s collaborating with well-known British retailer Marks and Spencer for a new fashion range. She’s designing dresses that are inspired by the sundresses that she usually wears. And despite being under Marks and Spencer, Taylor Swift’s new fashion range is affordable… well, that’s what she said.

Although she’s relatively new in the fashion industry, Mary Katrantzou is already making waves with her dashing designs! Fashionistas love the geometric prints in her previous creations. And now, I think many will still love her for the awe-inspiring pieces of her fall collection, which is fragrance inspired. She worked on Coco Chanel’s statement, “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” Well, Mary Kantrantzou took that literally and designed clothes that look like a perfume bottle.

Autumn is just around the corner! Shoppers are getting ready to fill their wardrobe with new items. Well, that’s no problem since Kate Moss with her new Top Shop Autumn collection is ready and waiting! The 11th offering will be available in her Top Shop stores staring August 31. Kate Moss herself is the model for the whole Autumn collection. I must say she outdid herself this time around in the black and white photo shoot. She looked every bit as glamorous and sexy as all the items!

Guess who is joining the clothing line bandwagon? The latest is Tom Cruise’s better-half Katie Holmes. I wonder how she’ll be able to handle everything with the dancing, acting, and who knows what else. But hey, it looks like she is really determined to have this venture. In fact, it will be out this Fall! What’s her clothing line called? It’s Holmes and Yang. Katie partnered with her stylish Jeanne Yang for this venture. Holmes and Yang will be launched at Maxfield in L.A.

The Teen Choice Awards 2009 has come and gone. If you watched it I’m sure you were able to see all your favorite celebrities who attended as an audience and also those who were recipients of awards. The 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards came and went. But what transpired in what the world considers as the Oscars of the fashion industry?

Held on June 16 at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City, the Fashion Awards gave honor to the top designers. It was a very grand night from start to finish. As guests entered the hall, there were sixty models lined across the grand outdoor staircase, ready to greet all of them. All of these models were dressed in a creation by the nominees for the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.

Another big-time celebrity joins the fashion designing trend. Miley Cyrus is the latest celebrity to try her hand at designing clothes. She has a really good backing having teamed up with renowned designer Max Azria. Miley has her vision of what the whole collections will be like. She’s aiming for clothes that will appeal to the teens.

Evangeline Lilly looks good in practically anything!
On the red carpet of the movie 'Looking for Eric' in Cannes a couple of days ago, Lilly wore a blue, high neck Valentino 2009 gown.
The dress looks great and the slit makes it very sexy.
But in certain poses i noticed that the dress made Lilly look stumpy and short!
