Quick and Easy Home Decorating Tips

Quick and Easy Home Decorating Tips

You need not employ a professional interior designer just to redesign your home. Sure you yourself can make your home more pleasing and inviting by applying basic rules in interior designing. To help you with your home makeover, I have looked all over the Internet for some quick, easy and inexpensive home decorating tips; here’s what I got:

Bedroom- If you have a little and a bit boring bedroom that you wish to turn into an elegant-looking room, cover its bare wall and ceiling with a brown paper. Use straight brown papers for the ceiling, door and window edges and crumpled paper for the wall (smoothen it first with your hands before pasting it on the walls). Finish it with an oil-based polyurethane coating for best results.

Dining room- If you’ve got bare dining room wall, add more life to it by giving it a “focal point.” Look for an old mantel or create one from wood scraps. You may also hang an arrangement of nicely designed porcelain plates that you no longer use.

stylish ribbon

Living room- Create a new look for your living room by beautifying your long and plain curtains. You don’t have to buy new ones, just sew a thick and stylish ribbon along its edges and you’re done! Make sure the ribbon matches the curtains’ color.

Khristine - I really love the idea of covering the walls with brown paper then using polyurethane to seal it. Earth tons AND texture add alot to a room!

I love finding old mantles and pieces taken out of houses waiting for demolition which come with great stories as well as become a unique focal point.
