Who gives a shit whether she is christain or a Muslim, the fact remains is that the woman is not that talented. She could be singing Opra or pop and she still sounds the same, her tone is the same, and so is her movements.

As for why I’m writing in English, in case you have not noticed, this is an English site, and unlike Lara I’m not in a show that is geared primarily toward Arabic audience and therefore everyone should be speaking in Arabic. On a personal level I think the girl is rather sweet. As for her dad’s money I have no doubt that has something to do with her selection.

And sure Aziz and Ibrahim might have money,but they at least have talent, Aziz is definitely a talented singer even you’re little tiny brain can comprehend that. Now we only left with the two Lebanese contestants, you really think they would be this far into the show if it was not for their nationalities, I don’t think neither one of them (Tina, or Micho) can’t sing even if their life depended on it. I don’t want to go back and forth with this, but there is one thing I have to say, you make a perfect poster child for mental retardation; even then you will give retards a bad rep. Can you point out you nit wit where in all of my comments I was contradicting myself. I have stated all along that since this the Arabic version of Star academy, therefore all contestants most sing, and speak primarily in Arabic out of respect for their audience. You don’t think the French or the Canadian contestants sing and speak in Arabic now do you?!

I think the show executive producer is not picking constants based on talent but rather for the sub-plot. Who can shack up with whom, and who would make the best love story. Their show obviously wants the audience to keep sending all those sms messages where it generates a lot of money for the show. So lately the show has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with money.

It's very unfortunate to have all this negativity, but you know maybe we should focus on the fact that she is making a sincere effort to learn and speak the arabic language. You cannot deny that she has been talking in arabic a lot more these days and will continue to do so. She is just more comfortable speaking english, and maybe we should just give her a break since she is very patriotic and is always heard saying that she loves Egypt and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else. So cut the negativity people!

I was watching some elite candidates on arabic super star 2008. My observations, which might be wrong, that star academy 6, selected more for the appearance to assure that some love stories evolve and so on, and those who miss love and romance in the Arab world keep tuned in front of the tele, in comparison to arabic super star program, which is more critical when it comes down to the voice.

M . Bash has a lot of talents to get ahead, he can also speak and sing in English.

Lara from Egybt, she can sing in Arabic, she understands Arabic, but, to my observation which might be wrong, *pretends* not to be able to speak it. I can say, yes she may be fluent in English that she can express herself well, but she can work on her Arabic to make it as fluent.

I lived a big part of life in the west, did all my education in English, English became my 1st language, however, I can still speak good formal Arabic.

If she can speak fluently English because she is talented, as she would like to be called, why does not this talent go to learn speaking Arabic fluently?

How may Westerns move to Arabic countries, especially Egypt, to learn Arabic? Lara lives there, and has the best chance to practice her Arabic.

In conclusion, I agree to those views that she wants to show-off with her English, and sadly enough, the program lets her do that, because there are streams in Lebanon, who think they are modern if they use English, and some Arabs they think it is the language of modernity.

Every time, I do something remarkable, when people want to thank/praise me, I refer to the way I was raised as an Arab, and teach them how to say to me 'thank you', 'hello' and 'good bye' in Arabic. I also tell them, Arabs are as other nations, which combine both good and bad people.

I once met on a trip in South America, a second-generation Egyptian girl who was born in Germany. In the beginning, she pretended she does not speak Arabic, maybe she wanted to look superior. Later, when she got lost with me speaking English to her, she started to speak Arabic so she would be able to follow. After a few minutes, I left the seen. When I met my other friend who stayed, he explained to me, how disappointed the girl was, that I did not pay her any attention. To me, she did not deserve any, denying her origin for no good political reason, or thinking to pretend superior speaking a foreign language.

Final words, girls like Lara will make a life in the middle east, due to a lot of those running-after-women men, and those girls who are wannabes. Look at those following shows of Haifa Wahby, or Marua who got no voice at all, just being women showing their body. They are popular because they have (empty-headed) audience.
