Tony Hanna and every single person who sang with him was a disaster.
they all messed up, aziz, ibrahim, yehya, aya and even basma in the first song. they were all out of tune.
the best in the prime were basma in the final song and zaher with julio, the rest were terrible

I really admired Michel Azzi, right after her second nomination, he told her, i will give you one advice, take it from a brother, "just stay away". That's all he said.

Wow. I am shocked. This show is totally dieing.

First off, I have to ask... what in the world is wrong with the arab world? Why in the world did Nasser get the votes? Look guys he can not rap. He seriousely thinks he invented rap? You people are just feeding his misplaced ego. His rap is a joke compared to real rap. He has know knowledge of music, rythm, and his lyrics don't mean anything. If you say "oooh but he gets the crowd riled up," then guess what. So could anyone if they got up there waved there arms around and yelled "YO."

My gosh, some people are just messed up.

Here is my review of the prime:

Tony Hanna: Best part of the prime.

Julio Iglesias: Was pretty cool, I'm not terribley familiar with him.

Michel Azzi: ruined the first song. He can not sing Tony Hanna songs well at all.

Aya: Did good with Tony Hanna, but her tableu was very bad! She can not sing Sabah.

Bash: was terrible. He completely killed the song. I prefer he sing arabic cause he sucks now.

Diala: I don't know I didn't think she did very well. Diala came into the academy singing fine, but for some reason she has gotten worse and now she sings from her nose.

Khawla: Sang well. I am so sad to see her go. Khawla is not going to be in the tour, even though she has a hundred times more talent then people like Nasser and Tania. Not to mention she is a lot more atttractive then Tania(and this is a guys opinion lol).

Zaher: Did pretty well today. He's very good in the high notes.

Lara: Didn't do well today. It was bad. Enough said. Why in the world did they give her a poodle? So she can be like all the talentless bad role models in the world?

Nasser: His rap is a joke. It has no meaning, there is no message, it doesn't sound good, it doesn't tie in with any type of music. I'm pretty angry about this.

Tania: Come on guys. The girl has no talent. I keep hearing people say "but Mirhan...". Well guess what, it wasn't ok when Mirhan was getting special treatment it is not ok when Tania gets it either.

Ibrahim: Idk I give him a C. He was ok in the song, but wasn't great. Abdullah and Qwaider did so mch better last year.

Abdel Aziz: Did pretty good. But he did make one mistake(although singing with Tony Hanna is difficult). He didn't get much to sing.

Yehia: Started off badly, but then straightened it out. He did ok. But he really shouldn't sing like he is going off to battle.

Bassma: She made the prime. She did great in all three parts. Lets be honest people. I hope we can all agree, that no one deserves to win this competition except Bassma. There is realy no competition at all. She had all the parts, so she should be #1 again next week lol. "3ala bali" was great. But why in the world did they send her to Ital with Yehia?! Worst gift ever! Not to mention that is the exact opposite of what her mother wanted. Her mother told her to keep away from Yehia.

Anyways, kinda a bad prime. N idea why you people voted for Nasser. I feel so bad for Khawla.

bash sounded awesome, play back or not. even if it was playback i was amazed by the capability of his voice in that song...it was so sweet <3 and zaher did great with julio too it was adorable how excited he was!!!!!!! i'm happy for him, he deserved it
and bassma wowed the crowd once again....she deserves the top 1 every week it seems...unless the other students start working harder!

But I agree that Bassma deserves to win 100%. No one else, it would be wrong on so many levels if Bassma did not win. Her voice is clearly superior to everyone else this year.

The Tony Hana songs sucked.. Every song with him and the students was out of tune and very messy. Only yahia managed to survive with Tony..

Basma rocked.. Diala and Tania ruined the songs they sang.. THEY should've been nominees instead of Khawla and Zaher. Aya was okay, forgettable though. As for Lara, well that was just horrible.. Im not a Lara hater at all. I like the songs she sings, but I also knew that she never sang them live. But she chose a VERY famous song like Womanizer to be her first live performance and just ruined it. And it's not only the singing, the whole preformance was sucky! Singing, Dancing, Moving, the couch, and Nasser of course were all just terrible!

As for the guys, all of them except for Yahia and Zaher didn't sing well at all. Bash didn't do that bad, and Aziz did okay. Ibrahim was screaming the whole time. Michel barely sang for a minute. Nasser no comment.. Oh and the first rap he sang wasn't his.. I've heard it before and if I can find proof I'll post it here.

Only Basma, Yahia, and Zaher deserve to be in the top five next week. But im sure they'll manage to put Lara up there as well even though this time she doesn't deserve it at all.. The other 2 spots should be filled by either Bash/Aya/Aziz who didn't sing as bad as the others did.

And when the nominees reportage showed, they didnt even show Khawla's and Zaher's evaluations. Becuase they actually did really GOOD! Zaher sucked in the last prime, fine.. But everyone had their lousy moments.. Do they even listen to Tania and Diala during the primes? As for Khawla, they only said that a good voice isnt everything.. Well, fine! I give them that.. But it IS the MOST important thing a singer should have. A good voice is the foundation for a good singer. Everything else can be built after that. Actually, isn't this all what this academy is about? Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

For a really good student like Khawla to leave so early while others like Nasser who clearly have no future as a singer is very disappointing. Khawla has a huge potential to rise and become a great artist that is what the academy is there for. But she was just ignored and mistreated like other who already left the academy like Nazem, Michel R, Inas as well, and even JABER who didn't get a chance at all. Nasser shouldn't have been accepted into the academy in the first place. I seriously hope that this will be his last week in the academy, because he stayed WAY longer than he should've.

I really wish that there was something i can do to bring Khawla back.. I really wish her the best, and she will be huge. Just wait and see!

I never really hated star academy until this season. At least in the previous seasons, most of the student who stayed til the end were actually good. But in this season a third of the good ones, maybe more, left the academy so early! While stupid rapper wanna be's who thing they're the ultimate best stayed..

I love the fact that for a few weeks Nasser thought he was the founder of arabic but then Fouad was like "i listen to rap more than you do, and i know it more"
If Nasser really wants to improve his rapping, then he needs to start listening to the way westerners rap..the rhythms and the beats they use. His rap seems to bore me to death..its all the same.
Anyway i dont think rap can be learnt, its something you can just do and Nasser definatley is NOT a natural rapper.

I agree, but about Tony Hanna, it is true that he keeps interupting and sings in a strange way, but that is because he is very old and slightly senile. So he is very difficult to sing with, but his voice is amazing, and I love Tony Hanna's songs. "Khatarna 3ala balak" is one of my favorites. So I think Tony sounded great, it was just difficult for the students to keep up. Last year Qwaider and Abdullah were up to it and gave an unbelieveable performance.

Anyways wow, Khalwa really will be missed.

i just wanted to point out the reason khawla was nominated and has left is because star academy tries to only keep at least 1 candidate from each country

for example, there were 3 egyptians and serag just had to go regardless if he was weak or not because lara and aya are better than him VOCALLY
the reason they are still on the show is because 1 is good in arabic and the other is good in ehglish
(what i mean by good is excels in, i dont mean they are awesome)

inas and zahar were nominees together and one had to go so the other stronger candidate zaher would stay

Nazem had to leave because there are 4 lebanese and although in my humble opinion he wasnt the weakest it was either him remah or tania to leave

In Star Academy 1 there were two Tunisians in the tour.
In Starac 2 there was 2 Lebanese in the tour.
In Starac 3 there was 3 Lebanese and 2 Egyptians in the tour.
In Starac 4 there was 2 Lebanese, and 2 Tunisians in the tour.
This year, Tania is still in leaving two Lebanese who sing arabic. Also there are two Jordanians still. So I see your point, it just doesn't fully play out.

I saw that too, he is so cute no matter what, i was watching the 24/7 and they were talking about it so basma asked him if the paper fell from his hand and he said no i threw it.

I dont know if this song was the same song that we was training for all week or a new one but i heard after the prime when him and lara were sitting in the living room with ibrahim and basma that bash was very stressed before he did this song on stage and everybody was trying to comfort him and lara was saying that she was changing or something so she could not say anything to him but she was really worried so i dont know what excatly happened to him but i hope they will show it tomorrow in the dailies or next friday when they show the backstage reportage. I know he was saying all week that he is not comfortable with the song they game him and he was worried, i think he did good even though i love listening to him in arabic more than english and i hope he will be safe from nomination especially that he had that piece of paper in his hand for some reason, so lets hope he is safe.

Bash had his song switched on him today when Julio Iglesias arrived! He was working on "I want to know what love is" all week long and then had it changed only a few short hours before the prime. KUDOS to him for pulling it off; cheat sheet or no. He was singing live and since the tonality (key) was still too low for him, he was instructed to soften the voice and heighten the emotion to keep up with the guest star. Under such circumstances, he cannot be faulted for it. In fact, he should be applauded. Anyone else would have turned into a statue out of fear on that stage with so little preparation.

Lara's song was totally mismanaged by Michel Fadel and the sound people. The chorus was recorded and tampered with (too much reverb and sfx) to a point that made it sound like her voice was coming out of a drain, and when they turned on her mic for her live bits, the difference in levels was so apparent and totally mismatched with the backups. As for her performance, well, there's only so much you can do with an armchair and a rapper who storms the stage on you. While not her best work, i don't think she totally tanked, as many of you are saying.

Diala could have done so much more with her first solo. They gave her enough to work with in terms of song and accessories, but she just didn't pull it off. She was out of tune several times and quite nasal throughout the entire song. She has a good voice when not singing out of her nose though. Her stage presence is non-existent and she seems to be very clumsy on stage and can't co-ordinate her movement with the rhythm at all.

Aya blew her tableau altogether. She has a lovely voice, but was out of tune and had no presence whatsoever. Fell flat on her face on this one.

Basma did well on the all her work all but that first lyric in her solo that she messed up. Other than that, she was quite solid on all three pieces of work she was assigned.

I liked Zaher's duo with Julio Iglesias. He did, however, sing out of tune quite a bit. Zaher seems to slip in and out tune under stress and when dancing or swaying.

Ibrahim and Aziz didn't really shine, but they did manage to hold their own with Tony Hana who must be a nightmare to perform with. I'm sure they were honored to share the stage with him but equally mortified at the thought of having to chase him through the song and figure out their cues.

Somehow, I think the Michel Azzi and Tania's saving grace throughout the season will be their diligence and hard work at the academy - and perhaps the romance that is/was gaining some public interest. They just haven't had any good performances at primes. Michel definitely has more talent than Tania. What she has is presence, but I don't believe that's enough to keep her going much longer. He will last a bit longer, but I really can't see him make it to the final.

Yehia needs to be given more work to regain the old luster. I like Yehia. He's a hard worker, he's got great attitude, he is quietly gaining a lot of popularity, which he deserves. I can't understand why his compatriot (Nasser) is more popular than he is and may very well make it to the tour (if there is a tour, which by the way is the responsibility of Star System and not Roula's Vanilla Production or LBC). It would be very sad to see Yehia out of the show and Nasser still there.

I feel bad for Khawla. She was given enough of a warning to turn herself around, but chose not to do so and ended up getting ejected for it.

to Rudolph , as the other said he was assigned the song couple hours b4 the prime started and since his english is not that good , it takes him more than 2 or 3 hours to remember the lyrics of a song , he has been practicing for the other song for the whole past week and he was so stressed because he was going to perform infront of Julio iglisias , and after all his work the assign him another song . bash is totally execused from not having the lyrics perfectly memorized , but he only used that paper once .
I still like zaher tho , but I would rather listen to bash because he sings both languages Arabic and English , and not only English .and that was my opinion and I still think it was cute and sooo adorable so please stop trying to make me change it by talking shit about bash cause it won't work .

I agree with you Khawla was very talanted and matter of fact she can sing in different languages beside arabic. She deserve another chance and to begin with Tania should be nominated NOT her.

heey all ..i dont know what's goin on but the prime was boooooooooring ...didnt like it at all..there's nothing special in it ..no reportages like the other yeares nothing intersting ...personaly i watch it 2 see bash he's the only one i get excited 2 see and he's singing was ok but they gave him this song at the same day he was rehrseling another song and suddenly they gave another one bash was really scared he said that when he went back home he said he never got so scared like this time .. .. so i guess that's good ...didnt like lara at all ....her voice sounded really bad .....
liked zaher with juio iglasies and that was the only good thing in the prime ..even the hendi dance wasnt that intersting it was the dansers most the time ..bash was so cute though ;)..

personally i was surprised that nasir got the votes and 50% but many ppl of this generation like rap and this kind of music though and wild stuff. alot this generation tend to have rap on their ipods more than classic songs and im one of them lol

I read it on a website someone of the lbc managment put it out ... so they published it and if we go along with what he/she said it's Zaher's turn (actually it was michelles Rmeih turn but he pulled out) so the continue ... anyways its a well played out game so u never know what they are planning I mean u never know wether now they chage their mind or something soo maybe they will do something different but according to that website it's zahers turn ( don understand why not NASSER) i am do u seriously believe he got most of the votes like that ...
