This was a great prime; the best this season. The 4th prime is always a significant milestone in a StarAc season because some trend is established until then, it becomes clear where Rula and her team are heading, and which candidates are given the priority and are in the forefront. Or, at the point it becomes relatively easy to establish who are the candidates who carry the program of the show. So, it becomes also apparent who are the students who are likely to get to the final. I would try to make the guess - based on what I have seen in the former seasons (and not on my own preferences). If any of the top candidates leaves the show, what happened last year, then the whole equation changes, more or less.

-------------------- The finalists (in NO particular order)

Michel
He has a solid voice, is confident in singing, on the stage at ease. Any good Lebanese candidate can count on Rula's help and will get to the final. Besides, the Lebanese girls go nuts for the Mr.Charming and are ready to vote for him to the last penny, and generate a lot of cash for the show.

Ibrahim
He has been progressing since the first prime; has a pleasant voice, and is concentrated well (careful about not making mistakes and is learning fast). He is not as attractive as some other candidates, but has all the Khaleej behind him in the final - and Rula likes that !

Yahya
He is the most experienced guy on the stage; handles his voice range with skill, and in the next two months his capacities may only improve. Can sing Tarab and Mawal, or the modern popular types. He is also very attractive, considering the female voters are in majority.

Khawla / Basma
Basma has the best female voice this season; however, as if she is just beginning to learn what to do with it. She is vocally relaxed, natural on the stage - it is in her personality, and in the fact that she has not, so to say, put all her eggs in the StarAc basket (she is registered in France to study medicine this fall, so the StarAc competition may be just an "enriching" experience for her).

Khawla, on the other hand, was born with the voice of a very specific timbre that is pretty but limits her to the romantic songs; (or the type Haifa sings) . Her fitting stage partner is Michel, and we will see more of them together in coming weeks. She is the only candidate this year who is academically interested in music as well.
Rula will take one of them because of the votes from the North Africa : they are significant source of income for the show - as voting for Dia last year proved (11th to 15th prime !).

Khawla / Basma

Bash
He is the nicest candidate in the StarAc ever ! I cannot help admiring the guy: he is fairly good looking, has enough calm to handle all the difficult daily situations, has a good voice, sings in arabic and foreign languages, and his singing is improving with each prime. This is first time I agree with Rula Saad : clearly she likes Bash too ! The cruel reality is that the show has to sell - in the first place - and I seriously doubt Rula would take Bash to the final, instead of any of the above mentioned candidates. She is a businesswoman and not very soft-hearted when the cash is in question. I wish I am wrong (in terms of how Rula directs the show), but I just do not see how is that possible to have Bash in the final (and not Ibrahim, for instance).

Zaher
One of the best male voices, and the best guitar player this season. Sings very well too.The problem is he has a limited repertoire as he does not sing in Arabic - and that he comes after Nader ...

Tania
I believe Rula will keep her on for the same reasons last year Mirhan was there - on the stage and off the stage.

Overall, he is the most complete candidate. He will probably deserve it by himself, though, at the same time, his winning may compensate the last year's injustice done to Qwaider.

what makes me think that dyala might make it there is for the gaza situation, they might put that into regards, like the way they made shatha win 2 yrs ago because of the war on iraq. Dyala and Basma for me are the best female voices, Lara needs to be on american idol. As for the guys its Yehya Misho and Bash

(this is last reply for today) I am absolutely with you on all the points you have ! This show has to sell in the first place. Took me a few seasons to understand it is not about the "voice" at all - it is about who generates more cash for the show. On the forum the majority is in the North Am., and if there is some agreement on the forum people think it is like that in the whole arab world that is watching the show. Rula cannot afford to make such a mistake. Regardless of how much we "respect" her (and I am inclined not to), she should be good at her job, as the show is still alive and owned by the same group. So, the money - first, the art - second. There is no dignity in the entertainment business.

I think the Top 5 was unfair this week. Ibrahim and Basma deserved to be in the Top 2, that's for sure, they're both great. However, none of the rest deserved it at all! I was extremely disappointed! Zaher, Aziz, Yehia, or Nathem should have been in the Top 5 this week!

Seriously, from an artistic point of view, both Nasser and Lara lack the voice and talent to even be on the show. The reason they're both still there is because they create drama, which is good TV, which attracts audience, and that alone is not good enough to create a star!
Nasser is only good at screaming. (which I guess he considers as 'rap') I don't think he will go far, I think one of the 20,000 who applied deserve to be in his place instead ... and Lara can't really sing. Madame Mary even said "sawta min rasa". That's why she's given songs 11 year olds can sing. I mean come on "Shut Up And Let Me Go" and "Don't Stop The Music" .... A cat can sing that!

Personally, I think Zaher is the best out of the 8 guys. He's a true freakin' musician and he's got the whole package to succeed. The voice, the looks, and most importantly the personality. and unlike Nader (whom I love by the way) he is really good at Arabic too. I'm rooting for him, I hope he wins because I think he could actually go far!
As or the girls, Basma has the best voice mashallah!

To be honest, you dont need to be musical genius to know that lara has not got a strong voice but that does not mean she will not succeed.
Please dont stop the music by Rihanna...come on everyone knows Rihanna can't even sing...& she sounds reallllyyy badddd live...but its her charisma, strong personality and looks that made her one of the most famous femal artists of our time.
Shut up and let me go is a song made by a band who have songs that sound all like this one, you dont need to know how to sing to sing this one, its just keeping up with the beat, thats all.
For now, i think Lara is the 5th or 6th best voice but when she gets on stage shes one of the best because of her dancing and energy...the others girls dont have the star quality that she does.
