David Beckham On the Sidelines for Six Weeks Due to Injury

David Beckham

David Beckham must be feeling so bad right now…because of the injury on his right knee and the speculation that he could not play for the rest of the year. Both factors are quite bad for a star-player as Beckham. This injury was acquired last Wednesday after Fernando Salazar, midfielder from their opposing team Pachuca, tackled him in their SuperLiga title match.

After acquiring the injury here’s what Beckam had to say, "It's gone from one thing to another…It's hard to tell, but it doesn't feel good. With a ligament strain, it's four to six weeks, but we'll have to see."

Iraq Wins First Asian Cup

Iraq First Asian Cup

After the almost non-stop bombings and wars Iraq has a reason to celebrate. In the Asian Cup held on Sunday in Jakarta, Indonesia, Iraq won their very first Asian Cup. This victory is a very inspiring one for Iraq because of the tragedies that they have recently experienced. Iraq’s soccer team won over Saudi Arabia in a 1-0 score. The Iraq team was not daunted by the fact that the favor leant heavily on the Saudi Arabia team, which won the Cup for three times already. Iraq soccer team’s captain is Sunni Turkman and the whole team is made up of Sunni Arab and Kurdish players.

Is it over for AC Milan’s Paolo Maldini?

Paolo (born on the 26th June 1968 in Milan, Italy) is the son of Cesare Maldini, a former Italian football player and coach. Therefore the talent runs in the family. Paolo is the living proof of the fact that it is true when they say, “like father, like son” because in 2003 Paolo captained AC Milan to the UEFA Cup Championship back in 2003; which happens to be 40 years after his father reached the same achievement.
Maldini is regarded as one of the best Italian players in the era and is recognized internationally for his unquestionable talent. His outstanding achievements speak for itself, including World Player of the Year Award. A man with fantastic captaincy, brilliant capability to play both by feet and defence, his sharp and well-timed attacking runs, his ice-cool nature and very grounded has his name recognized at a World Class Player.

AC Milan Raise The UEFA Cup High

Last night, AC Milan was crowned the Winners of UEFA 2007.

The man responsible is Filippo Inzaghi; who happens to be the very same man who was forced to sit out in the Finals in Istanbul two years ago, allowing Liverpool to win the Cup and raise it high.
Two years later, he was back and on the pitch making up for what happened. A goal in each half from him guaranteed that AC Milan will take their sweet revenge back at Liverpool, and most importantly get(ting) their hands back on the Cup. Filippo Inzaghi, is now the man responsible for AC Milan claiming the UEFA Cup for an extraordinary seventh time in Athens.

AC Milan and Liverpool delivered a brilliant and entertaining game. It all started solid, but eventually one had to take the lead.

Shattered Dreams for Liverpool at the UEFA Finals

For AC Milan and Liverpool the road to Athens was one that both teams truly deserved; after AC Milan’s enthralling defeat against Manchester United in one of the best games of the season and with Liverpool’s thrilling defeat against Chelsea in an exciting, hopeful and outgoing game. The finals seemed to be a very promising entertainment that would be packed with great potential.

Indeed it was at the Athens Olympic Stadium. Last night, the UEFA Finals delivered another brilliant game. From the very start to the very end the constant high level of capability and talent was maintained and delivered.

Qatar 1-Iraq 0: Qatar Wins the Gold in Football

More bad news for Iraq came today as its team lost the final game against host nation Qatar in the Asian Cup Games held in Doha.

Both teams came to a goalless draw at the end of the fist half but that goal silence was ended at the 65th minute when Bilal scored a header from a corner kick. Iraq's team tried hard to equalize the result but Qatar's team proved of a higher standard keeping the result at 1-0 all the way up till the 90th minute.
The Iraqi team kept the crowd guessing till the last minute with their die-hard, never give up style but that wasn’t enough to get the ball in the net.

England Loose 2-0 From Croatia!

"We were all outstanding. We played a fantastic game and the score in no way flattered us," said Captain Niko Kova after a 2-0 victory over England in group E of the Euro 2008 qualifying round…
…and he was right!

Croatia were not only good, England were terrible! The result stretched Croatia's impressive unbeaten run at home to 30 competitive matches and Bilic believes it also put England in a complicated position.
A position that received no mercy from England’s harsh media. The Sun newspaper said the keeper's "comedy caper" showed McClaren's new England era was "fast turning into a joke" and said fans jeered the England players as they made their way to the team bus.

Ok, things seemed to be going down hill for David Beckham when he announced that he'd resigned as England's team captain.
But nobody thought things would get this bad! David Beckham has been left out of the England squad to face Greece in a friendly game next week!
England's coach Steve McClaren didn't include Beckham or for that matter Rooney, who was left out because he is suspended from England's first two Euro 2008 qualifiers.
McClaren said: I spoke with David last Monday & notified him of my decision & said I was planning for the future, to change things & go in a different direction, & that David wasn't included in that.

zinedine zidane

Last night during the most important & critical match of the World Cup between France & Italy, Zinedine Zidane did the unbelievable; he got enraged & gave a dangerous head-butt to Italian player Marco Materazzi & got sent off the green with a red card only 20 minutes before the end of the match during extra-time.
It seems Materazzi provoked Zindane verbally & that's what sent him off.
This final World Cup match is also the final match for Zidane before his retirement, & ending his career like this is a big shame & he will never have a chance to redeem himself!

Real Madrid Ended the Year as a Loser!

Real Madrid ended a miserable year on a low note when they lost 1-0 at home to high-flying Sevilla in the Spanish Primera Liga on Wednesday.

Brazilian striker Julio Baptista produced a cool finish after 19 minutes, clipping the ball over the head of keeper Iker Casillas to inflict a second home defeat of the season on Real.

It was Sevilla’s first league victory at the Bernabeu in 20 years and had it not been for some superb last-ditch saves from Casillas and some wasteful finishing by Sevilla’s forwards the margin would have been much greater.
