Chris Benoit

Even though two months have already passed since wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and son before killing himself, there is still that big question mark in our minds, especially his fans, on what could have triggered him to do such a thing. Finally we can close the book on this because findings of the study done on his brain cells show that Benoit’s brain has great damage, which could have triggered the killing. And the fact that Benoit had a history on steroid use does not help. According to the investigation Benoit’s testosterone level at that time was way above the normal range, 10 times above.

Those who have watched wrestling know that the wrestlers are prone to injuries, concussion being the most prevalent one. However, there are arguments saying it cannot be established that Benoit’s concussion could have brought on the crime. The surest thing about the brain damage is that it truly sets off depression and abnormal behavior. According to one of Sports Legacy Institute members Dr. Robert Cantu, there were some abnormal protein deposits found on Benoit’s brain.

Chris Benoit’s father consented to studying his son’s brain because the crime he committed was so way out of behavior. With this study I guess the big question mark on our minds about the crime can now be erased.
