The PGA Championship is one of the greatest highlights in the world of golf. PGA or Professional Golfers Association of America Championship is the time when pro golfers compete for the top position. Last week, especially Sunday, marks a great culmination for the PGA Championship. If you bet on Tiger Woods’ win, you did not bet wrongly! Woods garnered his 13th major title. This 2007 PGA Cup is actually his 4th PGA. In the tournament held at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa Oklahoma, he finished first place with a final-round one-under par 69 in the 72 holes. This latest victory is another memorable one for Tiger Woods because it is the first one he’s made since the arrival of his beautiful daughter Sam.
Coming as a close second is 43-year old Woody Austin with the under-par 67…only 2 shots away from Woods. Austin played well last Sunday, giving Tiger Woods some bad moments with his great shots in the hole. Last Sunday’s performance was his best finish in a major championship event. Because of his win, Austin will be looking forward to joining the U.S. team for the President’s Cup in Quebec next month as well as other international tournaments.
The one to make the third place is Ernie Els with 66. Els has already made three major wins – 2 U.S. Open titles and 1 Open Championships before he injured his knee in 2005. He is making a comeback now and despite not winning the PGA Championships at this time, Els hopes to make it to No. 1 soon.
