Many of you will be aware that Brazilian football legend Pele played a big part in increasing interest in the game of football in the USA when he joined a New York team in the 1970’s. Now Pele is giving Beckham a few tips and warnings because he believes David Beckham can help increase the popularity of football but only if he is prepared for hard work. Beckham joined the Los Angeles Galaxy football team and he was officially presented to the public with his new team yesterday and was given his LA Galaxy Jersey.

Pele who promotes the ‘Read the History of the World cup’ program to encourage children to read more says that it is common knowledge that Beckham is a great player and well known all over the world and through this, he can help promote football in the USA! Pele didn’t stop there he went on to warn Beckham that the standard of football in the USA has gone up and that playing for Los Angeles Galaxy won’t be easy. According to Pele if Beckham wants to survive he has to keep up his good shape and work hard to keep his reputation.
