More bad news for Iraq came today as its team lost the final game against host nation Qatar in the Asian Cup Games held in Doha.
Both teams came to a goalless draw at the end of the fist half but that goal silence was ended at the 65th minute when Bilal scored a header from a corner kick. Iraq's team tried hard to equalize the result but Qatar's team proved of a higher standard keeping the result at 1-0 all the way up till the 90th minute.
The Iraqi team kept the crowd guessing till the last minute with their die-hard, never give up style but that wasn’t enough to get the ball in the net.
It wasn't all bad news as the Iraqi team was awarded the silver medal but had hoped to clinch the gold for the second time in their history since their last gold medal at the 1982 Asian games in India. Iran gets the bronze medal for coming in at third place.
Qatar celebrates in sheer jubilation amongst it's own crowd with the well-deserved gold medal in football for the fist time in their history.

noo ur wrong its not bad news 4 iraq at all,becouse they played well and beat the strongest teams like south korea{wich had 9 players who played in the worldcup}and also uzbekstan wich was expected to get the gold medal unlike qatar who had easier matches.
so once again they prooved that they r graet and iraq is graet,coze with these young players who only play in iraq in this bad situation,its very good
and the reason why we lost our match against qatar is becouse the striker of the team
{younis mahmoud} wasnt playing becouse of the cards he got,our defence was very good we only needed aplayer like him to score the goals.
but nevermind w8 4 us qatar in the gulfcup will pay it back...
i think the referee favoured qatar. it really wasnt fair for the iraqis. they deserved to win. inshallah next time. GO IRAQ
Yeah! I really hope so. They had a tough time getting to the Asian games in the first place. No money, no pitch to train in, no foreign coaches or any of that, still they got the silver. Dam good achievement if you ask me. I just wish they could have gone the rest of the distance.
Iraq is the best, and i have some doubts cause qatar won so many middals in the asian games, before they never scored so goood!!!! Hmmm strange dont u think?
