Some people end their careers after a terrible tragedy or a loss of a mentor. Such was the case when Michael Jordan went into retirement for the first time after the death of his father. Tiger woods, is having emotional trouble in dealing with the death of his father, Earl Woods who was not only his father but mentor as well.
Arnold Palmer won 62 times on the PGA Tour and is considered as one of Golf's legends had this to say about Tiger's tragedy:
"What a year Tiger had, with all he had to deal with, and how he triumphed. It's a magnificent story."
Woods thought he was well enough to continue playing and to get right back on the field to get his mind of his father's death.
This man has a great ability to bounce back. When he was 20, he missed the cut at the US Open but one year later, he won the first of his four Masters titles, and by a record 12 shots.
"The most difficult season I have ever had, no doubt about that," he said.
For the 8th time in his career, he has been named PGA Tour player of the year for his excellent record in 2006.
What a year it must have been. It's takes a strong person to deal with a tragedy and still continue to be a winner. We could all learn a little from this guy, not only in Golf, but also in everyday life.
