The two unlikely football teams made it into the final spot of the Asian Games in Qatar! Iraq and Qatar.
They’re both headed for a battle of the best on Friday for an all-Arab final when they meet for the cup!
Qatar entered the knock out round after a brilliant performance by Uruguayan-born Sebastian Soria in a 2-0 win over defending champions Iran, granting them their first spot in the finals.
The Iraqis however, beat the South Koreans 1-0 to book their chance for the showdown finals. The team's dramatic story saw one of their members killed and their coach receiving death threats.
"They have played eight games and extra time in the quarter-finals three days go. It was our mistake," said the Dutch coach of the South Korean team, Per Verbeek.
"Most of our players are under 21 but they used their skills well," said Iraq coach Yahya Mahel.
Iraq has a strong team and has proven that victory doesn’t only need truck loads of money and European trainers. Let’s hope their die-hard attitude can overcome the skillful host team who will have an entire nation on their side!
Don’t miss the game…!
