George Steinbrenner is now back on his feet after having a health scare last Sunday while attending his granddaughter’s, Haley Swindal’s performance in the lead role of “Cabaret” at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.
This is actually the second time that the 76-year-old Yankees owner had a public incident regarding his health. The first one was back in 2003 where he passed out during the funeral of the famous football player Otto Graham.
But apparently it was just a minor scare, probably due to the fact that the venue – Revolutionary War auditorium, had no air conditioning and the windows were all tightly shut. He was taken UNC Hospital where he was thoroughly examined. The whole incident was just probably due to the high temperature in the auditorium because doctors found nothing medically wrong with him. The hospital was graced by his presence for a night because by Monday afternoon he was back in his home in Tampa Florida and by Tuesday he was back in his office. No more need for worry because George Steinbrenner is evidently recovered and is excitedly planning next season’s events.
It’s just too bad for his granddaughter because the remainder of the play was canceled when officials of the Department of Public Safety received the distress call.
