David Beckham has announced his resignation as England's captain after England lost their chance of winning the world cup by losing to Portugal in penalty kicks on Saturday.
Beckham took this decision of stepping down after a serious phone call with his wife, Victoria, who has supported him on the sidelines during every match England played.
He was very emotional but had to take such a serious step in order to take the pressure off himself & his whole family.
And as for the team's performance in the world cup, Beckham said: Our performance during this World Cup has not been enough to progress further, and both myself and all the players regret that, and I hurt... I hurt by that more than people realize.

It's ironic that England introduced soccer/football to the world ages ago and since then their team hasn't won a single championship. Beckham runs after money like crazy, he did advertisments for Pepsi, Gillette, Police sunglasses which were more important to him than training and a big time womanizer. He sucked as a player. Christiano Ronaldo despite his young age was able to defeat England with his talented teammates. David go to your mommy and cry like your stupid boys, you're a loser and a disgrace to sports!

england won the worldcup in 1966 by beating portugal in the final.so u cant say they never win.and david beckham doesnt suck,hes one of the best freekick shooters u see he scored two goals from freekicks this mondial,so u cant judge him in one match.
england's team played very well...it is a chance to win in penalty kicks like portugal did...and we shouldnt forget that porugal's goallkeeper Ricardo is soo good at what he does.i say it was a chance that england got out .Beckham shouldnt quit being the captain,ur the best.

Ronaldo is only 21 and he's a prodigy and I have a lot of respect for him because his country finally reached the quarter finals. Rooney deserved to get kicked out for being violent.
