The biggest event in sports is on its way and it brings with it the usual media frenzy, football filled advertising, international rivalry, hooliganism, hormonal teenage girls keeping their eyes peeled for the fittest knees, colourful flags and every kind of memorabilia imaginable as well as the highs and lows of goals, winning and losing.
Unfortunately only two arab teams made it into the 2006 world cup and guess what? they’re only in the same group (coincidence? you decide). so get ready to see tunisia vs saudi arabia on june 14th in a group which includes spain and ukraine (ahem, ahem, call me a cynic but i think the two teams which will go through are not going to be arab teams).
Taking place in germany, world cup 2006 is generally being foreseen as an open tournament with many teams in with a chance at reaching the final stages. as usual brazil is the team most people are predicting as the world cup champions. but even the footballing legend maradona has sidelined brazil in favour of his home team argentina as well as european teams such as italy, spain, england, france and portugal.
Who are you supporting? and who do you predict to be the 2006 world cup winners? what games are you looking forward to seeing the most? which players are you looking forward to watching? do you think football is overpaid and over hyped?

OMG! football rules!! :D
I would really like the arab teams to work hard to get to a good stage in the cup but I doubt they will bring it home. I am rooting for Brazil and England because they all are stars. Its a shame Rooney isn't playing though. The most anticipating game for me in afct is not one between big teams. Rather, I want to see the one between Tunisia and KSA to see which arab country will move on. Its bad enough they are onlt two ba3ad they put them in the same group! I can't wait to see ronaldinho, ronaldo, zidane, beckham..all the legends. I think this is going to be the most watched World Cup in history. I can't wait for it to began and I hope everyone enjoys it... ;)
i would like one of the arabic teams to go on to the next level ofcourse mais, S'il don't then i would support either france or italy ...
IT's real obvious..that the arab teams will not get further than like one game...but w.e...ARGENTINA IS GOIN TO WIN...PEACE OUT DUDES
I would like to wish the best of luck to Tunis and Saudia on Monday. I think one of them has the chance to make it to second round and I hope they will.
I also want to warn people about "ART" and their commentator "Ashraf" who commented on the Czech vs. Ghana game. He is not objective and was obviously with Ghana. The Ghana players held teh Israel flag for more than 1 minute on ART. This is a shame, this is unacceptable. Czech is one of the best teams in this world cup, I hope Ghana looses 5:0 in their last game, they are Zionist, I hate them, I hate Ashraf Alsohyouni, he owes us all an apology, and I will cancel art from my Dish. I hope you all know this information. Thank you
