Handball World Cup 2005 in Tunisia

Tunisia is getting ready to welcome the Handball World Cup 2005 as they did for last African Football Cup of Nations in 2004. Mr Kamel Idir, the general coordinator of the organization committee declared that after the African Nation cup 2004, they wanted wanted this event to be one more a big feast

It's only the second time an African country is holding a World Championship after Egypt in 1999.

The 16 best teams in the world converge on three cities as Tunisia hosts the handball world championships. Ten venues - including two brand new arenas - will see action in a country with a long handball history.

In Group A : Denmark, France, Greece, Angola, Canada and hosting country Tunisia will play in Rades (Tunis)

In Group B : Slovenia, Russia, Czech Republic, Kuwait, Iceland and Algeria will play in El Menzah (Tunis)

In Group C: Olympic and world title holders Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Argentina, Japan and Australia will play in Sfax (East coast)

In Group D: Germany, Serbia Montenegro, Norway, Egypt, Brazil and Quatar will play in Sousse (East coast)

Two new sports halls were built to welcome these world championships: The sports gall of Radès, neighbouring the football stadium, with a capacity of 14,000 spectators, a gem that cost 47 million Dinars (30,8 million Euro)

The second sports hall is being built in Monastir. Eight other sites were selected to host the various competitions.

"Tunisia successfully hosted last year's Africa Nations Cup in football, winning the title at home."

Croatia has a great team, maybe there at the end of the road with this team, so it might leave teh doors open for other teams...... 100% not for Serbians...the like to dream about big things in life but it stops there....haha ....good luck every one

It's funny that we hear of a strong team nowadays called Serbia, I remember back in 2001, when EGYPT almost won the WORLD CUP, if it was not for the referees in the Semi-Final against FRANCE (host nation at the time). Today Egypt will be fighting for a position in the Second round but we will DO IT even over a new 'strong' team in the game called 'SERBIA& MONTENEGRO'

I m sure every person suports team from their country. I therfore support Serb. & Mont., but could not expect them to win, though would be glad. Mr. Mohamad Nasr we r not new strong team. we were world champions while u did not know what a hand and what a ballS are. Its easily seen from National team of Croatia. Its all the same team. Its pitty some people who support this team underscore their names with Nationalistic Franjo T. Croats and French have best teams. i d like to think we (serb. and mont.) r in the top four too. After all this is all a game and we should enjoy it as such. GOOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!!!

on this world cup are manny good teams,e.g. Germany, Spain, France. But I think that we have the best team ever. Balić, Metličić, Džomba, Vori, Kaleb, LAcković, Špoljarić, Lozert, Šola and the others are one of the best players all over the world. DEČKI SAMO NAPRIJED, MI SMO UZ VAS!!!!good luck for everyone!!!

svi koji pricaju protiv Hrvatske rade to iz ljubomore i nista vise..Ja sam iz BiH pa mi je drago kad pobjede jer su nam komsije, a i realno su najbolji. Svima zelim srecu na prvenstvu uz jednu veliku zelju da ce reprezentacija moje zemlje jednog dana bar zaigrati na jednom takvom velikom takmicenju. Pzdrav svima ;)

Hrvati nisu nikomu komsije, to je narod koji zivi od mrznje prema drugim narodima. Neonacisti 21. stoljeca. Bas mo ljubomorni na njih :) No imaju dobro ekipu, samo sto neznaju prihvatit poraz. Kad popuse, onda je sve drugo krivo, od suca, parketa, lopte ili jih je netko namjerno ozljedio :D
