In this season of movies Ahmed El Saka’s movie ‘El Gezeera’ (The Island) has taken first place with ticket sales worth a whopping 222,740,00 E.P in Egypt alone after 13 weeks of being in cinemas. Not too far behind was Kareem Abdel Aziz’s ‘Khareg An El Kanoon’ (Outlaw) which made 191,170,00 E.P. Controversy is a movie maker’s best friend they say and ‘Heena Maysara’ which takes third place in the Egyptian Box office saw a lot of controversy regarding the presence of homosexual scenes, the movie made 169,030,00 E.P.
