6 Bahraini citizens were able to break the world record of Texas University in the United States in reading ... The Bahrainis broke the Texan's record with 62 hours. Their new record is 202 hours, 2 minutes and 2 seconds. Guinness' representative Laura Hugus announced that the 6 Bahrainis really broke the record.

A member of the team, Taha Hussein, said that their goal was not just breaking the record but it was the challenge itself and the fun of challenging ourselves and actually succeeding in doing that. Abdel Reda Mohamed, another member of the team, added that what they did was a message of love and appreciation for creativity.

The Bahraini Ministry of Health was supervising this event by sending doctors and nurses to check on the team members all the time throughout the competition.
