Numbers

If you can't call, text!
This is the fact we're living with and the success behind the wonderful, can't live without, practical and fun service called SMS (Short Message Service).
As a word "successful" doesn't do it justice as a new study showed that text-messaging will double over the next few years.
Get this: In 2005 the number of messages sent to and from mobile phones was estimated at 936 billion, according to British market research group Gartner.

Total revenues from text messaging are forecasted to grow to $72.5 billion in 2010 from $39.5 billion in 2005 as Asia and the Pacific region has the most number of messages sent.
Experts hope that picture, video and voice messages, although popular already, will try to match the success of the SMS but will have to be simple to use and as cheap as the SMS in order to be a success.
