Despite the historic rivalry between England and Farce which has gone on forever, according to a poll, one in five Britons wish they were born on the other side of the English Channel. In a survey of 1,010 people as part of the French Wines Week Report, Britons were apparently charmed by the so-called "Thierry Factor" -- the rise of high-profile French celebrities here, such as Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.
Meanwhile, just under a third, 32 percent, of Britons said they would prefer to live in France, with 23 percent choosing Britain as the ideal home.
Now, I know a lot of you Brits are thinking: ”not me!" and understandably so. But let’s take a look at how the survey that was conducted.
• It was for only about a thousand people and there are over 50 million in England.
• It was done during the French Wines Week so there could be some happy French sentiments out there at this time. (some might have been a bit tipsy too)
• It was done at this time in autumn which means that the English weather may have affected judgment.
As you can see, I'm trying my best to find excesses here! ahhhh!!! Brits, please say it isn't so!!!

hey hey...i want 2 be french!
and i am young..im 17 english and tunisian.and wished i was french and tunisians..i mean the english embaress me, and the french are just gr8 i mean their language is amazing. they all speak 2 languages i mean in uk.. u will be lucky if the average person speaks english deccent let alone anothr language haha! and i mean personally being arab i would fit in better in france as theres not many arabs in uk :( its all the asians..which is still cool.
Also i wud like to live in france, but Paris region not where all the old ppl go..i mean loads of old english are there..poor french :S
i like paris caz its truely romantic and with all the arabs..gr8. but thats only if i don't live in tunisia. but one thing is certain..I AM NOT LIVING HERE anymore :D caz the culture and everything is soo bad now anyway..i beta shut up now..just sharing ma opinion lol
Thats not true about French speaking 2 languages...u will find in fact that most French only speak French. Mainly due 2 the absurd colonial competitions that went on throughout the centuries, one being which language could become more dominant in the world. So a lot of English neglected teaching a second language due 2 pride, and thats the case with the French unfortunately. It's only until recently that Western European countries realized the loss of only having one language.
I'm grateful for being Muslim and British. After all the riots that occured in France and the restrictions on practising religion in School or other places of Education and most likely work too, and after the French stance after the Dutch cartoons and the whole Jean-Marie Le Pen saga, I truely am thankful. I think most people wanna be whatever they are not.
Besides Thierry Henry married an English woman and lives in the UK whilst playing for an English team.

It's not hate at all actually, it's more like a married couple teasing one another. They have done many things together u can't forget...and so I think when u can put differences aside and just get on working like bros and sis then that's the best solution. We have much more in common they birth places.

Also u know that the UK language used to be french until the anglo-saxons arrived and changed the language and this was how english was created from french and german word. im doing english language for A-level so trust me :) i mean most the english can't speak much french anyway so the french speak english for them. but have u noticed sam how here in uk, the french or german etc don't get that help its like if u don't speak english tough! u gotta learn it.
yeah about the hijab ban in france its soo wrong and against human rights. but u know whats worse? that tunisia have made laws so the women can not wear hijabs! i mean its a Muslim country! and this whole crazy debate about the teacher wearing veil whats the big deal? i mean i think its better influence than teachers wearing tight clothes and low tops etc..thats a bad example for kids. if i had kids i wud rather they wear taught by modest teacher or muslim wearing hijab. u know i bet the uk will end up banning niqab! and then hijaab :(
i mean im gona live in tunisia next year, and planned to wear hijab..not then but after i married (obviously when im older) and now i can't even wear the muslim wear in a muslim country!!! this world is insane. i mean no one critises westerners in muslim countries do they huh?! and if they do they are called extremists! i wish this world was dominated by the muslims! cause it would be a MUCH better world!

oh btw..the thing about riots in france is cause the france are racist and do not give opportunities to the Blacks and Arabs which are discriminated. This makes Britain better, since the govt has given equal opportunites to all. apparently in france, well paris is hard to get a job if u have Arab or African name :S...shame cause my full name is arab and i really wanted to work in paris! ohh damn :S

There r some really intelligent and beautiful mota7agibat and at the end of the day il 7igab is just a piece of fabric. It's a shame what’s been happening in Turkey ...what can we do though we're powerless against those fascists. I wear higab and I've never ever actually felt any intimidation or inhibitions or anyone treating me in a lower standard but maybe it's different depending on which park of the UK u live in. I know for sure that parts of the north are more of a struggle but illhamdulil'allah we're still increasing. I don't actually think the UK will ever be like France or Germany for the simple fact that Muslims have had more opportunity to get involved in the politics of UK & taken it, whereas u can count the amount of Muslim politicians in the French/ German govt's on your fingers. Either way I think Muslims will remain aliens to this world forever; whether that's bad or good only God knows but illhamdulil'allah anyway 4 our increasing numbers above all- no one can stop that.

Unfortantely Islam is being teached by people that have not nothing to with the real teaching of Islam ... and whats worse is that people take such teaching without any verfication ... if whats so called muslims nowadays just read the Quran carefully by themselves .. keys will be opened to them gradually after each reading ....
some of today's sheikhs must be executed ... not all of them since there are still a lot of them who are good people but unfortantely there are lots of other sheikhs that are there to screww islam and talk in the name of it .. making its image worse every single passing day :(
As for Hijab thing ... i have 2 prespective for that issue .. on one hand, it should always remain a personal choice and one has the right to either out it or not ... on the otherhand, many people don't know anything about the real history of Hijab ... unfortantely many of nowadays Islam regulations are back to different rulers at different stages of Islam and not to Quran itself .... take the nikab thing in Saudi Arabia ... they force women to waer nikab and cover their hands even in Omra and Haj and ask them to slawter cheap at the end to 'tkafer 3n thnobhim'!! what an idiots .. though they know this is wrong ... they still insist on doing the wrong thing ..!! one more thing since i mentioned S.A... a new rule this year was established denying women from praying inside the Haram .... and even one more thing .. several homes of prohpet were destroyed, one of them which belongs to khadija .. a toilet was built on it ... the S.A officials claim that ruins means nothing in Islam ... guess what, they just spent more than $300 million dollar in restoring the old 'Karia' of Saud ... damn these people and their sheikhs ....
As for Tunisia, there is a big missunderstanding .... Nikab which covers all the face is not allowed .... and a specfic kind of hijab is banned: the one that you cover all your head with and make it very close to your mouth and in black color ... this considered to be a political wearing because a certain movement used it before in tunis ...
Wearing any other color is allowed making sure not to make the hijab very close to the Eyes covering fully the forehead and also let your mouth appear... if you wear the hijab this way, no one will bother u .... otherwise, you are declaring that you belong to a certain movment and not just following your beliefs.
