According to the 2004 Global Amphibian Assessment compiled by Conservation International and partners , of the 5.700 species of frogs, toads and salamanders, almost a third is threatened and 168 have become extinct, most in just the past 20 years. And the reason is habitat loss and strange deadly fungus attacks.
