I saw that her reasoning was just and believed that she deserved my parents respect despite the few other problems we had between us. She left without achieving her goal and tension started to build up on both of us. We were both suffering for a long time.
A month later we had an argument over the phone about the silliest subject on earth, and it led to yelling and screaming. Next day was break-up day. Life was miserable for me, and I lost my social life and all interests in pursuing any hobby or friends. The only thing I was left with was my job. Soon I learned to make the most of what I still have, while knocking on her door every 2-3 months. I probably was not doing it right because I always approached her romantically and she took it for granted that I was always available.
