I met this guy online about 2 years ago. He asked me out 6 months after we met. It’s been a year and a half now since we've been going out. He's 16 like me.
Times have been pretty hard for us. We've had people trying to break us up and tear us apart. We got passed it but with many more thoughts of the future. We haven't even seen what each other look like yet, but we don’t care. We love each other very much. He lives 3 hours away. Now the problem is; our parents. His parents are making him get rid of the Internet and my parents what him to send a picture. We talk on the phone for like an hour. Things are getting so much harder but I know he's my true love. What do I do? Is there a way to make our parents understand that we love each other? Please help.

Dear Manda,
You have to keep in mind that most of the relationships that are made online, don’t work!
But, you can try the following:
Let him send you a picture, there is no harm at all in that. At least your parents will have what they want.
And why don’t you try to meet face to face! That would be more realistic, and concrete than a cyber relationship! You never know, you might like him more, or you might reconsider the whole thing!

I would just like to say that if you really do love him!! GO for it.
I myself met my girlfriend on XBOX LIVE, we started going out on the 16th of december 04 and we ar still going out.. Now the one thing is I am from Scotland and she lives in PA I went over to stay with her in June for 2 weeks, those weeks were the best of my life.. things couldnt have been better! When i got home i decided that i was going to move out there.. I have applied for college and all i going well..

I disagree with that response. If the guy you're inlove with is the real deal, then there's the possibility that your relationship will be successful. No doubt about that since you were able to keep it together for the past two years. I'm just worried about the fact that you haven't seen his picture at all. When you finally go to meet him, be sure to make the necessary precautions. There are dangers in dating people online. Dating your true love is no exception.
