It's been really long since I’ve posted any recipes ... but now I am back!
This recipe is a family favorite & although vegetables are the rulers of this dish, I listed it under meat, because it does have some minced meat.
Ok, here are the ingredients:
12 Zucchini's – peeled & cut length-wise in half -
750 gm Carrots – peeled & diced -
300 gm minced meat – precooked with diced onion & spiced up with black pepper –
½ liter milk
100 gm flour
grated cheese – a lot! –
Fry the zucchini's & carrots in deep oil & put aside.
In a casserole – enough to carry all the ingredients – lay the zucchini halves, face up in one layer. Add the meat & make a layer that covers the zucchini.
Then add the carrots to make a third layer.
In a saucepan, ix milk & flour very well, then put on the fire & keep stirring until they boil & make a thick white sauce.
Pour the white sauce over the casserole, spread well, and then sprinkle with the grated cheese. Be very generous with the cheese!
In a heated oven, put the casserole for about 35 to 40 minutes, until the white sauce bubbles & the cheese becomes a beautiful golden color! Yummy!
Serve with bread & enjoy!
P.S. Sorry there's no photo. But the casserole looked & smelled so good, i couldn't just stand there & take a photo! I had to dive in!
