Jamie Oliver Fish Pie

fish pie

I tried this recipe from my favorite cookbook Jamie's Dinners.
I wasn't sure about this dish, but I said I had to try it! The reason for my hesitance was the cooked fennel! I didn't think it would be yummy, but it turned out to be the opposite! Very Yummy Indeed!
It will take a bit of time, but it's all worth it! Believe me!
Serve it will lemon wedges & your favorite salad.

Ingredients:
7 medium potatoes, peeled, sliced & half boiled
5 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, peeled & chopped
1 onion, peeled & slices
1 bulb fennel, washed, trimmed & sliced
8 small fish fillets, de-boned
150 cl cream fresh
Freshly grated cheese, preferably parmesan
Salt - Pepper
Breadcrumbs
2 lemons, halved

Preheat the oven to 5 gas or 180C.
In a pan, put olive oil, onions, garlic & fennel, cook slowly for 10 minutes on low heat, and with lid on. Stir occasionally.
In an oven casserole, spread fennel mix on bottom, lay fish fillets skin-side up on the fennel mix. Mix cheese with cream fresh & pour over fish.
Toss the potato slices in olive oil and spread over the top, sprinkle with salt, pepper. Put in oven and cook for 30 minutes, then sprinkle top with 1 cup breadcrumbs & cheese & bake for another 5 minutes.

Enjoy!
