
One of the most delicious things to eat in the Czech republic, are those open sandwiches they call “chlebicky”.
There are places especially for “chlebicky” in the streets of Prague the capitol, and the variation is enormous. You can also experiment with your favorite ingredients.
Here are a few of the suggestions:
First thing you have to do is to spread slices of white party bread with butter and decorate with your choice of these different combinations:
Mayo, ham or any kind of salami, horseradish, red pepper, parsley
Butter, ham or any kind of salami, hard cheese, red pepper, sweet & sour gherkins (pickled cucumbers)
Sardine spread, salami, hard-boiled eggs, gherkins
Butter, salami, hard-boiled eggs, gherkins
Butter, sardine fillets, onion rings
Soft herb cheese, radishes
P.S. for those who drink beer, this is a great compliment to ice-cold beer.
