
Pizza might be one of the most famous Italian foods in addition to Spaghetti and lasagna, and what makes pizza a favorite is its acceptance to loads of different toppings that vary from vegetarian, meaty and even fruity!
The first thing I am going to give you is the basic pizza dough recipe that is easy to make, then i will give you three topping recipes that will have you drooling all over!
Basic Pizza Dough:
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
1 1/3 cups warm water
Mix these up and let stand until the yeast has fully dissolved in the water.
Add:
3 ½ - 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
Mix everything together for one minute, and then knead until the dough is smooth. Coat the dough-ball with olive oil and cover, let set in a warm place for 1 hour. Preheat your oven to 475 F and spread a tray with olive oil and spread the dough to the desired thickness.
Now your pizza is ready for your choice of topping. Here are three suggestions that you will love:
Seattle Pizza:
Layer your dough with sliced salami and slices of pineapple! Yummy!
“The” Vegetarian Pizza:
This topping is great for “dieters”, it is full of veggie weggies, and is absolutely mouth watering.
Layer your pizza with slices of grilled eggplant, sliced fresh mushrooms, onion rings and sun-dried tomatoes “you can find these canned at the super store”.
Sicilian Pizza:
Spread the dough with Chili tomato sauce, garlic, ricotta cheese, raisins and black or green sliced olives.
After topping your pizza, bake it in the oven for about 10 minutes, and then top it with cheese and bake it for an additional 5 minutes.
When the crust is golden and the cheese bubbly, then your pizza is ready to be sliced and gobbled down!
