Health: Stress

Exercise

Depression and anxiety is one of the main concerns that is facing a big percentage of the population around the world these days. Depression in particular can be brought on by a lot of factors especially nowadays when greater demands are being made on the individual. We all know that we live in a world now where stress and tension is even greater than ever before. A recently released study shows that there is a way to combat depression in a natural way and this is by undergoing vigorous exercise on a regular basis. The recent study conducted by Dr. Nicola J. Wiles and her colleagues at the University of Bristol was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

just relax

When you're stressed & feeling cornered by everything in your life, not only are you suffering from the inside, but from the outside as well!
Your skin gets effected by the stress in your life, it becomes more susceptible to skin disorders; scratches & scrapes stick around longer, your skin gets easily inflamed by scratchy wool sweaters, adhesive bandages, cold weather, or dry, itchy skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema!
If you're not cinvinced, this has been approved by a study on skin irritation ...

cup of tea

Regular cups of tea can help speed recovery from stress, researchers from University College London (UCL) said on Wednesday. It makes sense that an English University would make such a research, wouldn't it?

But here's the catch, you have to drink black tea 4 times a day! Those people were found to have lower levels of the stress hormone called “cortisol” than a control group who drank a fake tea substitute, the researchers said in a study published in the journal Psychopharmacology.

Tea drinkers also reported a greater feeling of relaxation after performing tasks designed to raise stress levels.

Weekly reports; meeting with clients; deadlines; demanding and uncompromising boss; piles of documents waiting to be read; telephone calls; car, insurance and telephone bills—okay, you have reasons to be stressed out, but hey, relax!

Don’t you know that YOU are the greatest factor contributing to your stress levels? Yes, you are, so why choose to be bugged by all those things when you can choose to be worry-free? When the going gets tough, try to sit back, take a deep breath and calm down.

loud noise

Loud & annoying noises may be bad for your ears, but get this, they are also bad for your heart!
Being exposed to screaming children, honking cars & the construction site next door can make stress levels so high and heart health so low!
If you live or work down-town, it would be a good idea to take some quiet time for yourself every day; take a warm bath, a long walk in nature, walk the dog, or sit in a calm room & read your favorite book.
As for how loud is too loud, here are a bit of numbers:
70 or 80 decibels, like a vacuum cleaner, can damage your hearing! Less than that can cause cardiac stress!
So be careful, and enjoy any tranquil time you find!

boysenberries

Berries aren't only cute & yummy, they can also help boost you memory!
In a recent study, researchers discovered that the extracts of certain berries helped combat oxidative stress and DNA damage, both of which play roles in the development of Alzheimer's disease. The researchers studied extracts from blackcurrants and boysenberries, two kinds of berries high in potent disease-fighting antioxidants.
So add berries to your diet; in the morning, maybe mixed with cereal, or as a dessert after lunch or dinner.
Berries are great anytime, anywhere!

Believe it or not, but good sleep can help you loose those extra pounds! If you don't sleep well, that might be a simple reason why you are either gaining weight, or not loosing any!
Sleep deprivation interferes with appetite-suppressing hormones, increases stress hormone levels, and decreases a person's glucose tolerance, all of which may contribute to weight gain. Another way sleep loss may help pile on the pounds: late-night munching.
Go to bed and get up at the same time each day to help achieve sounder sleep.
Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night, and you'll be great in the morning!

questions

Higher curiosity levels may mean better adaptation to changes, stress, or challenges.
And losing your curiosity may signal a life-shortening decline in nervous-system activity.

swimming

Forget boxing or rugby, try hang gliding or swimming, try games that get you to relax and get away from the stress of life.
