Run on Sand

Living a sedentary lifestyle is the perfect way to accumulate fat. If you live in the city, you’re probably one of those who are having problems with thickening waistline and other diseases caused by too much accumulated calories. You can still remedy that by exercising. This summer forget the gym! Try exercising in the open air, along the sands of the beach! You should know that running on sand helps you burn twice the calories as you do when jogging on the road. I don’t know how this is so, but what the heck! It’s a more fun way of exercising right? And aside from getting rid of fats, you also get a great tan!

However, you also have to be prepared for jogging on the beach. I mean, have the perfect gear for the task so that you’ll have no interruptions during your run, like the uncomfortable feel of sand in your shoes.

To make your run more effective, make sure you run on the wet and firm sand first, going to the softer sand. Do this on 1-2 minute intervals. Then go back to the wet sand for 3-5 minutes. Do this routine for 15 to 20 minutes you get the sure feel of the soft sand because running on its surface really takes some getting used to. After finishing the route, cool down by walking barefoot on the beach. They say that this makes the ankles and feel real strong.

So, think you can handle this kind of exercise? Sure you can!
