We are constantly encouraged to exercise and live a more active lifestyle in order to fight obesity and avoid related diseases like diabetes. But researchers have just unearthed a new benefit of being active: it reduces your risk of getting cancer! After the examination of 80,000 men and women of ages ranging from 45-74 it seems that the risk of getting cancer was reduced by 13% in men and 16% in women.
The researchers also pointed out that the risk is reduced not only in people who exercise but those who walk to work, or take the stairs as opposed to the lift. This is good news to many of us because we can control how active our lives are. If you are worried about one of the most common diseases of our day and age that claims many lives then get off the couch and go for a jog or a swim.
