Cheap Test for Cervical Cancer Found!

Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancers for women. This disease can sometimes go undetected and becomes evident when it’s already in the acute condition. But now there is a new method that can help a lot in saving millions of women in the world. In a new study published in the medical journal The Lancet visual screening can be done in order to detect early signs of cervical cancer. This detection method will only need to use vinegar, cotton gauze and a bright light! Of course the whole process has to be conducted by a nurse or a trained health care provider.

The vinegar will be placed in the gauze and the nurse will apply it on the cervix. If there are pre-cancerous lesions it will become very white when placed under the bright light.

This new detection method is by far cheaper than the one being used today. Developing countries will be greatly benefited by this especially for taking care of women’s health. Women who do not have the financial means will now be given a chance to take care of their health.
