Trying to lose weight by eating less? It may be pretty hard I suppose especially if you’re fond of eating sweets. I bet just the thought of mouthwatering ice creams, sundaes, cakes, cookies, tarts, pies, milkshake, and the like make you rush to the fridge or to the store to get something to curb your cravings for sweets and desserts. I know because I too, love sweets! They’re too tempting and there are times, you cannot just resist them even when you try so hard to maintain a healthy no-sugar diet.
If you can’t resist sweets or eating just any kind of food that pleases your taste buds, try to consider this tip: downsize your spoon, plates and other tableware. A new study reveals that people have this tendency to eat more when they use bigger plates, bowls and spoons. When we eat ice cream for example using a bowl twice as large as the regular size, our tendency is to eat 31% more! This is because we usually match our servings to the bowl or plate we’re using, the researchers explained. Food served in a small plate may look enough but when you place the same amount of food in a bigger plate, it may look too little and so your tendency is to have another serving.
