Business process outsourcing is a booming industry in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. Every year, thousands are hired in companies such as call centers that usually cater to clients in Europe and the US.
Although call center jobs are typically highly rewarding—financial speaking, there are some drawbacks, too. For one, employees are required to work in graveyard shift, which is undoubtedly not good for the health. Working at night is not only physically challenging but it can be mentally burdensome too since one may not have enough sleep to keep him physically active and mentally “awake.”
If you’re working in a graveyard shift or suffering sleeping difficulties that of a call center agent, check out these tips and suggestions:
1. Relax, read a favorite book, listen to a soothing music or take a bath before you go to bed so you won’t have any trouble sleeping.
2. Since you are sleeping in the morning, place thick curtains in your room so that your room won’t be too bright as you sleep. If that’s not possible, it would be best to use sleep mask.
3. Take a power nap before you work to prevent burnout.
4. As much as possible, don’t change your sleeping schedule too often.
5. If all else fails, try to go to your personal doctor so he can prescribe the right sleeping pills for you.
